Basic Handgun

This course is currently in development, but here is a brief overview of what is offered in the in-person, instructor-led "Basic Handgun" course:

Welcome to Basic Handgun! In this class, students will learn the basic knowledge of handguns, their operation, ammunition, firearms safety, and the fundamentals of shooting. Students will also implement those skills in live-fire exercises at an approved shooting range alongside an experienced instructor. All supplies are provided by the instructor (including firearms, ammunition, and note-taking material).

While shooters of any level are welcome to join this class, it is geared toward those students who are new to handguns or firearms in general. The class seeks to create a welcoming environment in which students can learn about various types of handguns and also experience what it's like to fire those different types of handguns in a very safe and controlled environment.

GENERAL CLASS INFORMATION:

- Students should wear comfortable, breathable clothing that can be exposed to the elements.

- Students should bring hydration and snacks if needed. Lunch is not provided during this class, but a lunch break will be provided.

- Students will not bring their own firearm or ammunition to this class. All students will be checked for firearms and ammunition once in the classroom and range environments.

CLASS REQUIREMENTS:

- Students must be 18 years of age or accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian (minimum age 13). Parents of minors will be required to sign a liability release waiver on behalf of their child if under 18 years of age. Throughout the class, parents are responsible for their children in every regard.

- All students must sign a liability release waiver before participating in the class. While Fox Shots Defense LLC has taken every precaution possible to prevent injury to students, shooting sports carry an inherent danger.
